In this video we're going to show you how to replace the master power window switch on this 2000 Lincoln Town Car, the same as any '98 to '02 Town Car. It's a pretty easy process. All you need is a flat blade screwdriver. With the master power window switch, a common symptom is that you can put the windows down with their individual switches, but this switch won't control them. Many times it's caused by rain coming in, getting down in and shorting out the switch. It's pretty easy to replace; you just need a regular screw driver. You want to carefully pry up right under here. There's a clip that holds it right here. You can see mine comes right up. It's because it's already been broken. You want to pull it up and then you want to slide it forward and out.
Then let's disconnect these harnesses. They are held in by a little tab, the little U-shaped thing here. Then the tab's right underneath, so press the tab with your finger and pull the connector, down and out. Same thing with this next one, the tabs right here. The grey one, the tabs on the other side; a little harder to get to, just put your thumb up in there, press it, pull it out. Then for this white one, the tab's right there, pull it out. Now the switch itself is just held in. Here's my new one. It has four teeth and those are held into the plastic bezel. You use your screwdriver to pry out and release. Then pry on this one, release. This side of my switch is free so I go to the other side. Pry out; this is already broken a little bit. Then over here, pry out and my switch comes right out. New switch from 1A Auto goes right in. Now you can reconnect everything. Then you're going to put it back down in. You going to want to put the back down and in first and then press down and snap the front in.
