Brought to you by 1AAuto.com, your source for quality auto replacement parts and the bets service on the internet. Hi, I'm Mike Green. I'm one of the owners of 1A Auto. I want to help you save time and money repairing and maintaining your vehicle. I'm going to use my 20 plus years experience restoring and repairing cars and trucks like this to show you the correct way to install parts from 1AAuto.com. The right parts installed correctly, that's going to save you time and money. Thank you and enjoy the video.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the driver side mirror which is basically the same process for the passenger side on this '94 Camry, same as any '92 to '96 Camry. This is a Japan built car. The US built cars could be a little bit different and I do mention that in the video. The only tool you'll need is a 8mm socket and ratchet.
First, you're going to want to remove this trim panel right here and actually just put your fingers in behind, pry out, just pull straight out, don't pull down. Okay. You can see there's three pins that go into the grommets.
This car is a Japan built car. The VIN number starts with a J. If your VIN starts with a 1 or 2 I believe, it's either US or Canada which is considered US built. This vehicle has a lead that comes up from the door. I'm not sure on these Camrys, if you have a US built car, you may have a lead that comes out here and goes down to the door. In that case, you would need to remove your door panel. You can just check out our other videos to see how to remove the door panel. It's not a hard process. Then you can really just put a thumbnail up there and pry that out. Pull it out. Then there's three 8mm bolts here. I have a socket and ratchet with an extension. You can very easily just use a little 8mm wrench. We'll just speed through removing those three bolts. Take this glass, top them out to give the mirror some support. Usually, it's just kind of stuck there for being there that long. Then just shake the mirror a little bit. Pull the gasket apart. Then there's your mirror off.
This obviously is our original mirror. A new mirror from 1A Auto. You can see our mirror does come in black. Just paint to match. Obviously with this age of the car, you may just want to fix your broken and putting a black one is not a problem for you. If you do want to paint to match, what I suggest is find an auto part store that has a good paint department and they can help you with the use of your VIN or your paint code. They can help you just mix up a little bit of paint and put it in an air charged can and you can spray the new mirror yourself. See, the connections are all the same. It does come with some new bolts. Comes with gasket and everything. Put it on there and it will bolt in just the same as your original.
Obviously, there's nothing wrong with this mirror so I am going to just to show you how to reinstall. Put the mirror in place. Okay, start the top bolt. Okay, again we'll use a little bit of fast forward here just to those other bolts on. Then you may tighten them. You want to tighten them snug. Don't be extremely tight. Get your lead. Put on your trim panel. You're all set.
