In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the upstream O2 sensor on this 2000 Nissan Altima with the 2.4 liter, 4 cylinder engine and it's the same part and process on these Altimas from 2000 to 2001. The only items you'll need is a new upstream O2 sensor from 1AAuto.com and 7/8 inch O2 socket and ratchet. Right here is your upstream O2 sensor, pull the harness off the bracket, push in the tab and separate the harness. Use your 7/8 inch O2 socket and put it down over the O2 sensor and remove it. On the left is the old O2 sensor and on the right is the new one from 1A Auto. You can see they look a little different but they have the same harness connector and will mount exactly the same and it will work just as your old used to.
This O2 sensor comes with some anti-seize, just put it along the rim here and this will make it so in the future if you have to remove this it will be easier to remove. You just want to twist it down into place by hand. Then put your O2 sensor socket into place and tighten it up with your racket. Now reconnect your harness and clip it onto your bracket. You are all set.
