Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we show you how to replace the side mirrors on this 1998 Honda Civic and it's the same part and process for this Civics from '96 to 2000. We show you on the driver side, but it's a similar process on the passenger side. The items you'll need for this is a new side mirror from 1AAuto.com, flat blade screwdriver, and an 8mm socket and ratchet.
Start off by pulling out on this triangular panel. Next, you want to disconnect this harness, just push the tab underneath and pull it out and then remove these three 8mm nuts. We'll just fast forward as Don does this. Pull on your mirror and push up on the lower tab and down on the upper tab and the mirror will pull right out.
On the left, is the old side mirror; on the right, is a new one from 1A Auto. You can see they're identical and they'll mount exactly the same. The new mirror comes with a pad, just remove the adhesive backing and stick it on to the new mirror. Line up the mirror and push it into the door and we'll just fast forward here as Don replaces those three 8mm nuts. Reconnect your harness and replace that triangular panel, tuck it down into the door panel and put it up against the metal on the door and push it into place.
