step 1 :Removing the Door Panel
- Pry off the trim piece inside the door handle with a flat blade screwdriver
- Remove the Phillips head screw inside the door pull
- Remove the Phillips head screw inside the door handle
- Pry out the door panel with a door panel clip tool or putty knife
- Lift the door panel up and off
- Disconnect the latch cables from the door handle

step 2 :Installing the Door Panel
- Connect the latch cables to the door handle
- Lift the door panel into place
- Push in the door panel clips
- Insert the Phillips head screw inside the door pull
- Insert the Phillips head screw inside the door handle
- Push in the trim piece inside the door handle with a flat blade screwdriver

In this video, we're going to show you how to remove and replace the rear door panel on this 2006 Jeep Liberty. We show you on the passenger side, but the driver side is the same procedure. The items you'll need for this is a Phillips screwdriver, a flat blade screwdriver, a 10mm socket and ratchet, and a putty knife.
Start off by prying up this little panel behind your door handle. Then, there's a Phillips screw in there, and one in the pole cup. Just go ahead and remove those. Using a putty knife or flat blade screwdriver, pry out the door panel so you can get your hand behind it. Then near the clips, pull directly out. This will release those clips. Again, find the clip, pull out.
Then when you get to this point, reach in behind the door panel and push those last two clips along the top out. The door panel lifts up and off. Now on the back of your door handle push this clip off your door handle rod and push it down and out.
Now to reinstall the door panel, push your door handle rod back up into the door handle and reclip it. Then put your door panel down over the lock and onto the window sill. Check behind the door panel, and make sure the clips are lined up. Then hit them into place. Then replace those two Phillips screws and that panel behind the door handle.
