Removing the rear seat is easy. This video will show you how
Socket Extensions
10mm Socket
Ratchet
Hi, I’m Mike from 1A Auto. We’ve been selling auto parts for over 30 years!
To remove the back seat, we'll need a 10 millimeter socket extension and a ratchet. There's a 10 millimeter bolt hidden behind the seat cushion. We'll go in between where the buckles are. Got to find it, and we'll remove the bolts. Bolt goes through the body, probably sticks out towards the bottom of the car. It's a little bit rusty, believe it or not, even though it's an interior bolt. But it is coming free. There we go. I don't really want to spray rust penetrant in here. I don't want to get it all over the seats. Try to reach in here with my fingers and grab the bolt. If it falls, it's not a big deal, because we're going to lift the seat out anyways. There's the bolt. Has a little bit of rust, because it does go through the body, like I said.
With that bolt removed, we can lift up on the seat. We're going to pop it out of the clips. Just give it a good little pull. Same thing on both sides here. Sometimes you have to be on the other side. We pushed the seats forward, so I can just step in here. But it's right about here. Just give it a good pull. The seat should slide out. Can remove it from the vehicle. Vacuum up under here. Looks like the rear window broke at one point, and nobody pulled the seat out to clean up. I'm going to vacuum this all up, and I'll put the seat back in.
What I like to do putting in a rear seat is buckle the seat belts up, so they're not getting caught underneath the cushion. I'll take the—this is the center one, and the side one. Just kind of holds them up. Reinstall the seat cushion. I want to push these buckles into the openings. These are going to go over here. Once you get them in there, you can take them off. It does help you fish them up, though. This one's caught around the bracket. Get this one up here. I'll push it into place.
Get these lower brackets, and push it backwards a little bit. These hooks are going to go into these grommets on both sides. We'll have to go under here and just get them started. Then push it down. Do the same for this side. They'll lock in place. Going to take that bolt and reinstall it. We're going to have to look through here. See if we can move these out of the way. There's a metal loop. And this bolt is going to go through the loop, and we have to find the hole. Get the bolt started in the threads, and tighten it down. Just go till it's tight, and you're all set. The seat's reinstalled.
