Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.

In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the rear window wiper motor on this 2006 Jeep Liberty, and it's the same part and process for these Liberties from 2002 to 2007. The items you'll need for this are a new rear window wiper motor from 1AAuto.com, 13mm wrench, 10mm socket and ratchet, an adjustable wrench, and a flat blade screwdriver.

First, we have to remove the interior tailgate panel. Just pull out along the edges to release the clips. Once all the clips have been released, you can lift the panel up and off. If a clip stays behind, use pliers to pry it out, and then it just slides right back into the panel.

Now, pull back your water shield. Lift up this cover on your wiper arm, and using a 13mm wrench, remove this nut. Now, angle the wiper arm up and pull it off the stud, and then, using a flat blade screwdriver, pry off this cap. Now, use an adjustable wrench and remove this nut. Now, on the other side, push the tab on this harness and pull it free. Now, use a screwdriver to pull out this red clip and pull that harness free. Now, loosen up these two 10mm bolts, and now, slide the motor forward and out.

On the right is the old wiper motor; on the left is the new one from 1AAuto. You can see they're identical and will mount exactly the same. Feed your new wiper motor up into place and slide it back. Then, replace the gasket on the other side and that nut, and tighten it up. Replace the cap and then tighten those two 10mm bolts. Push the wiper arm back into place and then replace that 13mm nut and tighten it up. We'll just fast forward as Don does this. Now, reconnect your two harnesses, and push that red clip back in. Replace your water shield and push your tailgate door panel back into place and just hit each of those clips back in, and then you're all set.
