In this video, we're going to show you rear view mirror replacement on this 2005 Camry same as all this era Camry. The only tools you'll need are a flat blade screwdriver and a 10mm socket and ratchet. This is a USA built car so if your car was built in Japan, it could be a little bit different. I believe the leads may go down inside the door panel.
This is the US built model, so you just pull this off and then there's three 10mm nuts here. You have a lead right here. To unplug this lead, use a small screwdriver, there's a tab right under here. Push up. Pull out. Just removing this nut. Here's your mirror off.
Here's the original mirror and the new mirror from 1A Auto. You can see the new mirror is all the same, it just has these protectors for shipping here. 1A Auto mirrors come in black, you can mount it as is, if you would like to paint it to match. I suggest going to an automotive paint or an automotive parts store that has a good paint department, they can usually match your paint based on your paint code which they can help you find. They can give you some paint in an air charged can and you can paint it yourself.
Now for this vehicle, obviously my mirror is in good shape so I'm just going to reinstall it. For reinstallation, it's just a reverse of the procedure. Put the new mirror in. Plug our lead in. Put our nuts on it. Again this is an American built or USA built car. I believe a Japan built, you might have to remove your door panel and just see our video for ... Just go to Camry door panel removal and you'll see how to do that. I'll speed it up here briefly as put those last two nuts on and then tighten them up with a wrench. You want them nice and firm, you don't have to have them extremely tight because the mirror is plastic and you can break it if you over tighten them. I'm putting this panel back on, just pry this little clip if it didn't come off with your trim panel. Put it back on the trim panel and snap it into place.
