Check out this video to learn how to replace the sliding window latch on your 94-02 Dodge Ram truck. 1A Auto shows you how easy it is to DIY!
Hey friends, it's Len. We're in the back of our 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 and we're going to be showing you something very simple, replacing the rear window lock. This is very common for these. It's just a piece of plastic that goes back and forth a bunch of times, every time you lock and unlock, and it just makes it so your rear windows can open up.
We're going to replace this so we can make sure that everything's nice, and safe, and secure. To do that we're going to remove these screws. It's just a Phillips head, nothing special. You could probably reuse this if you wanted to but our kit from 1AAuto came with a new one so hey why not? All right friends. So right here we have our original rear window lock out of our 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 and over here we have our brand new quality 1AAuto part. Both these parts are the exact same. It's got the little flip e do there. This one, it's got the majority of a flip e do. Set those down. We also have the other side, the quality 1AAuto one's a little bit nicer, more heavy duty. I love it. With that said I don't see any reason why I wouldn't want to install this into the vehicle so I'm going to go ahead and do it. As always, if you need this or any other part you can always check us out at 1AAuto.com. Thanks
So, we're just going to start this in, line up my screw holes here. There we are, not going to tighten it up until I get my other one started of course. Last thing we want to do is break anything. Just screw it in until it bottoms out, just give it the teensiest bit more so it's bottomed and there it is. We'll do the same to the other side. Just get this screw started. Same thing for this one. There we are, they're both started. Let's snug them down. There we go. All right. Let's give it a try. Slide right over, push it on there. Sorry bad guy you're not getting in today. Thanks 1A.
