In this video, we will be replacing a taillight on a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee . the same process for basically all 93 to 98 Cherokees. It only takes a 10 millimeter wrench or socket. You can see here, there's three bolts. I'm just going to kind of loosen them up with a socket and ratchet handle. Then I will speed the video up as I take the rest of the bolts out the rest of the way. Do not try to work this fast at home. I have hands of lightning.

Okay, and then once that's done then you just pull it. There is a little pin that is in there so you have to pull briskly. Then, all of the plates, you can service them, they just twist out. Then there is another small light at the bottom, or maybe the side: the side marker. Once those are all out then you can swap your light if you have a damaged tail light, or service the bulbs, whatever you need to do. Then they twist back in to replace. You just got to make sure you line up the right pins with the right slots. The old square peg, round hole, or I don't know, round, slotted peg, round slotted hole. Twist them all in. Then line that pin up and push it right in.
Then, we will speed up putting the bolts back in but that's about it. Three 10 millimeter bolts and you can replace your damaged taillight or service the bulbs, whatever you might need to do.

And then after we get them all tightened up, you always want to make sure to do a quick test and make sure all your lights are working. So we'll hop in. Check the: lights, brake light, blinker.
