Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the tail lamp assembly. We're going to show you how to . if you're just looking to change bulbs, we'll show you how to do that as well as if you have a broken tail light you can get a new one from 1AAuto.com. In addition to that new tail light, you'll also need a 10mm socket and ratchet.
Open your tailgate, pull back the bed liner if you have it, which will expose two 10mm bolts. I'm using a 10mm socket and socket wrench to remove the two 10mm bolts. I'll fast forward as I do that. Pull the tail lamp assembly out.
All three of the tail lamp bulbs come out the same. They're twist lock, so you twist them counterclockwise, pull the socket and then just pull the bulbs directly out. In order to reinstall them, you're going to line up the tabs and twist it clockwise. You're going to go ahead and do that for all three of them. If you're replacing the tail lamp assembly, remove the three sockets and place them down in order to be put back in.
Here, you can see the old part and then the new part from 1A Auto. It's a direct replacement fit part with the exact mounting locations and new plastic lenses. Line up the tabs on the sockets and lens and twist them clockwise to lock them in place. Once you've done that, you can place the tail lamp assembly back in. Note the pins, the guide pins that I'm going to show you right here, and where they go into the frame of the left rear fender. Reinstall your 10mm bolts and I'll go ahead and fast forward as I tighten those up. Put that corner of the bed liner back in place. Then you can go ahead and put your tailgate back up.
