Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how to video helps you out. Next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to service the taillights on this 2003 Honda Odyssey, same as any '99 to '03 Odyssey. We work on the left hand taillight; the right hand taillight is the same procedure. We show you both if you need to just replace the bulbs, as well, if you need to replace the whole assembly with a new assembly from 1AAuto.com. Tools you'll need are a small flat blade screwdriver and either a Phillips screwdriver, or an 8mm socket with ratchet. Okay. You'll start. I actually can see one of the clips undone here. They're just little access doors or panels here. Just use a small flat blade screwdriver. Pry in here and out. You will see two bolts. You can either use a Phillips screwdriver or a socket and ratchet. I'm using a 8mm socket with ratchet. You can also use a screwdriver as well. Remove these two bolts.
You can just pull the light loose a little bit. Reach into the back and basically flip up a little bit, and pull back. I put my fingers into these gaps. I just pull, shuck it up and down. Now, if you're just looking to replace a bulb, just twist these sockets counter clockwise and bulb comes out. The bulbs just pull away from the sockets, and back in. If you want to replace the entire assembly, just pull that plug out. Here is your connection. Right back here, there's a little tab. Press the tab and disconnect.
If your taillight was broken in a small accident or something like this, something like that. A new light from 1A Auto, you can see, it comes with a harness and everything. It has the pad on it to keep it from rattling. You just put it right in. It plugs right in. Force the plug and everything right in. Put the body plug in place right here. Have to press the body plug in place. There is a little tab right here, goes into the body right here. Let's see. I'm basically taking my harnesses, and there's a clip of the back of the light that you can clip the harnesses into place. Looking right down, there's a tab on top, and that little clip. Make sure everything goes in. Okay, press it in place, then use my two 8mm bolts. Goes right back in place, just like the original. Okay, just push these little clips right back on.
