New Tail Light from 1AAuto.com How to install, repair, fix, change or replace a broken, damaged, burned out, cracked, faded, cloudy or chipped tail light / brake light on 06, 07, 08 Honda Pilot
Phillips Head Screwdriver
8mm Socket
Ratchet
To change any taillight bulbs, or replace the taillight housing, remove the eight millimeter bolts. They also have a Phillips head in them, if you only have a Phillips head, but I'm going to use an eight millimeter socket. This tail lamp is going to be real loose once you unbolt it. There are two pins that go into the quarter panel. Pull them out.
There are two pins here. To change the bulbs, just turn counterclockwise. This lower brake light bulb is a 7443. This one is okay so I'm going to leave it alone. Going to reinstall it and turn it clockwise to lock it. This is a side marker bulb. That looks alright. It's a 194. Plug it back in. Turn it clockwise. There's actually little arrows on that one. See where it's locked, that arrow lines up there. When it's unlocked, it lines up there.
Take the top brake light, running light bulb, turn it clockwise to unlock it. So all these just pull straight out. You can mount it either way. This is also a 7443 bulb. To reinstall it, push to in, turn it clockwise. If you were going to replace the entire housing, you can unlock all of these. Take the housing off.
So to replace the housing, put the new, or the old bulbs with harness back in. Feed it back in, line these tabs up with these little grommets. Reinstall the eight millimeter bolts. So I've just got them pretty tight with just using my fingers. I'll switch to my ratchet, and I'm just going to go until I feel them get tight and stop.
