In this video, we're going to show you a taillight replacement in both replacing the bulbs or the entire taillight assembly if you've broken one. The only tool you'll need is an 11 mm wrench or a deep socket and a ratchet.
Okay, you want to start here in the trunk. There's a little kind of plug thing that holds your trim in place. Okay, then pull your trim down, and you can see three 11 mm nuts here. If you have a deep socket wrench, that's much better. Okay, we'll just fast-forward as we remove those three 11 mm nuts. Okay, then you pull your taillight out. Just looking to replace bulbs, you twist and pull these out, and then they just pull out and push back in. To change your entire light if it's been broken, just remove all three.
Okay, here's the new light from 1A Auto; the original light. You can see the only difference is that the Lincoln emblem is not in there, but if your light's been broken, the new one from 1A Auto is going to work, function, and pass inspection and everything. For this vehicle, obviously, my old light's not broken, so we will reinstall the old light. You can just see that the new one from 1A Auto is exactly the same. Just have some little protectors here, so nothing gets in there while it shipped. You can just peel those off, and everything's the same.
Okay, to reinstall, both bulbs go in; twist, bulb goes in, twist. Okay, this one kind of Make sure that your harnesses don't get stuck on that stud down there. Bolt goes there. Twist, and there's little tabs that go into locating pins. Okay, and we'll fast-forward through putting those 11 mm nuts back on. You can put them on by hand. Then tighten them up snug with a wrench; they don't have to be extremely tight. It is plastic, and then put your trim back in place.
