Phillips Bit in a Ratchet
Drill
Trim Tool Set
Okay, friends, to get started on doing your rear tail lamp, you're gonna need a Phillips head, and you're also gonna need a nice plastic trim tool. Use your Phillips head and remove the two mounting bolts. Use your trim tool, come right down along the lamp and the body, and just draw it away. At this point, we're gonna remove the wiring. If you just come right here, you can squeeze on this tab right where my thumb is, and then you should be able to draw this off. Take a peek. Make sure you don't see any funny colors.
Next, we're gonna remove this trim piece from the lamp itself. If you were to turn it over, you're gonna see there's a little clippy-do here and here. If you press down on those just a little bit, you don't want to break them off, you should be able to draw the trim piece away, and you can do the same with these ones right here. Let's put this on the new lamp.
All right, friends, here's our new lamp assembly. As you can tell, we have to insert that trim piece. This is great because you don't have to worry about color-matching anything. You just put on the piece that was already existing. Line up the holes. Squeeze it in. Make sure it's completely clipped in all the way around and it's completely secure.
Now, if you were to look at the backside of the lamp assembly, you're gonna see that there's a couple little pitons. Those need to go into these holes right here. Okay? With that said, let's grab the wiring, connect it in. Give it a nice tug. Make sure it's secure. It needs to be secure. Line up those pitons with the holes that are on the body, and then go ahead and give it a light bonk just to set it in. You wanna make sure it's lined up all the way around and your mounting holes are lined up as well. Insert your mounting screws. Make sure they're nice and snug. Now give it a test.
