Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video we're going to show you tail light replacement. This is a 2008 Dodge 1500 and same for a 2007-2008 1500, 2007-2009 2500 and 3500 and the only things you'll need is new tail light from 1AAuto.com and a T25 Torx driver.
Open up your tailgate. Each light has two screws. These are T25 Torx. It's best to have a socket like this and a ratchet handle. With those screws out, grab it right in behind here and pull. We're going to pull this little clip off and put it back in the bed of the truck.
If you're just looking to change your bulbs, turn counterclockwise and pull out. Obviously, the light is now free and these bulbs just pull out and push back in. If you needed to disconnect your connections, there's just tabs on the side. You would use a small flat blade screwdriver and press the tabs on that one. This one just pull this little red safety tab down and this tab and disconnect.
Push the safety tab on, and our original light is in good shape, so we're just going to reinstall it. Put the lower one in clockwise to lock, upper one in, and clockwise to lock. Just peak in and make sure that these go into the hole. Just push the light in and put your two T25 Torx screws back in place.
Thanks for tuning in. We hope this video helped you out. Next time you need parts for your car, please visit 1AAuto.com. Also check out our other helpful how-to and diagnosis videos.
