In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the temp. door actuator. This is a problem if your vehicle's AC temperature doesn't change. It always blows hot or always blows cold. That's usually this door, this actuator.
Tools you'll need are a flat blade screwdriver, a 7/32 inch socket with a ratchet and an extension, and a pair of needle nose pliers.
In here, underneath, there are some clips that hold this panel on the bottom and there are those clips. You want to use a screwdriver, pry the center down, and then the clips pull out. Okay, then once you have those clips off, just pull this down and out ... and right here is your actuator. Use a pair of needle nose pliers and squeeze that tab. Push it up through. Next, remove these two bolts. They're 7/32 inch. We'll speed up as we just remove those two bolts. The actuator comes down, and you can see that it's plugged in right here. Pull this tab up and it comes off. Here's the new actuator from 1A Auto, same as the original one. We'll connect our harness connection first, and then put it up and in. Let's see.
We'll speed it up here as I start those bolts and then tighten them up. You want to tighten them up nice and snug. Don't want to over tighten them though. I do apologize for the camera angles. I am actually holding the camera with one hand and installing it with the other.
Now you need to reconnect the rod that connects to the temp door, and I'd separated the small clip from the rod. Clip the clip in first, and then just put the rod on, just kind of relax it on there and then press it down into the clip.
Now, we'll fast forward. The last step is just to put that access panel back up in there and put the three clips back in and you should be all set.
