Hi, I'm Mike Green. I'm one of the owners of 1A Auto. I want to help you save time and money repairing or maintaining your vehicle. I'm going to use my 20-plus years experience restoring and repairing cars and trucks like this to show you the correct way to install parts from 1AAuto.com. The right parts installed correctly: that's going to save you time and money. Thank you and enjoy the video.
In this video we're going to show you how to replace the front window motor in a 2003 Buick Lesabre, same as many 2000 and 2005 Lesabres and some other GM full-size, front-drive cars. Tools you'll need are Phillips and flat blade screwdrivers as well as a putty knife or a door panel clip tool and a small stubby Phillips screwdriver.
We'll start with the flat blade screwdriver and this panel actually pulls if you carefully pry it a little bit up and out and then there is a little wire for your speaker. Pry on the side where you can see the tab. Pull the speaker lead out. Here, pry it to the front very lightly pull it out like that. Then again, there is a little tab right here, so pry that out. Try not to drop that. Then back here on your reflector just pull in there and pry it out and it's out.
Now, inside the door there are two screws one there and one right there. I'll just fast forward through removing those screws they are Phillips screws. We are going to use a putty knife or door panel clip tool whatever you might have and hold, use your foot a little bit to give the door panel a good yank there. Comes up and off. Here there is a master switch you pull out on a couple of tabs. You pull out on these tabs and then that rotates down, this bit comes out and there is your door panel out. Pull our water shield back, carefully.
Right here, is your window motor. The lead you just push down on this grey tab, push it out with a screwdriver and disconnect it. There is three screws that hold the regulator on. One here, here and here and you can see through this mirror that on the backside they are Phillips screws. With a short Phillips screwdriver, reach back here. I'm just going to speed up as I remove those three screws. You can't really see what I'm doing. It takes a little bit of force to break the screws loose, but then they come out pretty easily after that. Once you remove those screws you pull your motor off. To replace it, reinstallation is pretty much just the same. This motor is working fine, I'm just going to put it back in. Just find where it wants to be. Take the screws. Okay and I'm going to speed it up again as I just screw the motor back in. A quick note if your window motor should break and the window is in a down position, what you can do is there are two 10 millimeter bolts that hold clamps from the regulator to the window. You just loosen those bolts and then you can raise the window up by hand to get it out of the way. Plug it back in. Okay and I'm now going to button our door back up here. Okay just to keep the video somewhat brief I'm going to fast forward through putting the door panel back on.
