In this video, we're going to show you how to remove and reinstall the wiper cowl cover in this 2008 Dodge Ram 1500.
Here are the items you'll need for this repair: T25 Torx Drivers, side cutters
Remove the wiper arms from the truck. You have to lift up. Small tab here that you take out with your thumb. It simply lifts off the splines. Using a T25 Torx bit ratchet and extension, remove the T25 Torx screws on both ends of the wiper cowl. Open your hood.
We're going to use a pair of side cutters to remove all of these plastic snap clips here. It makes them a lot easier to pry out. What you want to do is open them up, slide them underneath, and close down without cutting. Simply work it back and forth. Repeat this for the remaining clips all the way down the bottom of the wiper cowl.
We'll also remove this clip on the insulation. Pull that back. Lift up on the weather strip here. That simply pulls off. Now we can remove the passenger side of our wiper cowl. Disconnect the windshield washer lines there. Remove the remaining three clips. Take off our driver's side. Remove the wiper cowl cover.
Reinstall your wiper cowl. Reconnect to your plastic clip connectors. Reconnect the washer hoses. Snap them down into the retainers. Reinstall plastic clips. Lay this deadening material back across. Stick this harness retainer in and the other clip. Lay the weather strip across the bottom of the cowl. Snap it onto its retainer in the middle here. Close your hood. Reinstall the two Torx screws at the rear of the cowl. Reinstall the wiper arms onto the splines.
