Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
On this vehicle, we're going to show you a temporary fix. You can probably see it here. There's a crack or actually a break, or maybe somebody tried to steal the catalytic converter on this vehicle, but we just want it to quiet it down a little bit as we move it around. What I'm going to show you is how to patch your exhaust with a tin can. This is not a permanent fix. This is just a temporary thing. If you're on a trip or something and you have an exhaust break or leak, it's just a little trick you can use with a couple of dollar clamps and a tin can, and fix you up for short term.
You can see under here either our pipe broke or maybe somebody tried to steal the catalytic converter on this vehicle. What I've done is I've taken a tin can, I've sliced it and I've also cut it to length so it fits in here well, and we're just going to take this and we're going to wrap it right around, and try to get it on there as tight as we can and then we're going to put the clamps, one clamp on. Obviously this is meant to be just a temporary solution, if you're on a trip or something. It's just a matter of buying a couple of clamps and the can to get you where you need to go. Tighten them up.
