This video shows you which way to orient your performance brake rotors, and why.
Hi, everyone, just want to talk to you real quick about directional rotors, how to install them properly on your car. This is the set that we sell on the 1aauto.com site. And as you can see, there are drilled holes and actually angled grooves. Now, naturally, you would think, 'Oh, I want the rotor to go this way because it's angled like that.' And I think that's something that you would think, but it is wrong. This needs to go in the rotation of the opposite way. So if this is a driver side, it would go on the front or the rear and you'd...the pads of the caliper would be here or in the back. And you want those grooves to cut into the pad, like that. If you're on a passenger side, it's the same thing over there. You don't want the grooves to go with the directional rotation of the tire, you want them to go into. So this would be the passenger side, caliper, front of the car, and it would rotate in this manner.
There's also in directional rotors are what they call the cooling veins inside. Ours are straight out. They're not at an angle. If you look at the pattern here, they show a type that are at the angle. That would be...the proper way to install it would be this way, but where we have direct flow coming in of air, it has to go with the matching of the outside cut.
