Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the front inside door handle on this 2003 Honda Civic, same as most of this generation, 2001 to 2005. The only tools you'll need are a small flat blade screwdriver and a regular size and smaller size Phillips screwdriver.
To remove the inside door handle, use a small screwdriver. There's a little indent right up here. Put the screwdriver in there. Pull this door down. Then, there are two Phillips screws in there. Speed up here as we just remove those two Phillips screws. Then pull it back and out. There's a little clip here. Take your thumb or maybe a screwdriver and pry that clip off. Pull that up and out. Now, your harness here just has a little tab here. Push in and turn. You'll need a small Phillips screw driver to remove the screws that hold your lock switch in.
You may need to swap over this bracket. Then to reinstall, obviously my handle's in good shape. So, I'm just reinstalling it for you. Put your lock switch on the new handle. Plug this back in; pull your rod out a little bit. Put that back in there. Flip that clip back around and lock it on. Put the front end first in place. Fast forward through putting those two Phillips screws back in and tighten up nice and firm. Don't over tighten them though. Tighten them firm with your Phillips screw driver. Put your screws back in. The two tabs go to the bottom and lock that back in place.

Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you inside door handle replacement. We're going to do the driver side on this two-door. This is the same for a driver's front on a four-door. It's 2001 to 2005 Civic. Items you need include a new door handle from 1AAuto.com, small flat blade screwdriver, and a Phillips screwdriver.
Switch off your dome light and grab your flat blade screwdriver. Look at the top and pry out this little trap door. Get the screwdriver in there, turn it down, bring it out. Expose two Phillips screws. Pull the handle out, the clip in behind, push it in towards the car and off. Pull the rod iron out. You have a harness connection here if you have power door locks. Press down and release. Remove your door lock switch, just two Phillips screws.
Reinstall your switch if you can't actually put it in correctly, if it doesn't line up, switch in place and thread through here first. At first, it can be a little difficult if you've got fat fingers like I do. Then tighten them up. Reconnect your harness, find your rod, put it in. Make sure you bend this back to back, small part in. Clip that on and replace. Put your two screws back in place and tighten them up. Then your trap door, the two tabs go to the bottom.
Thanks for tuning in. We hope this video helped you out. Next time you need parts for your car, please visit 1AAuto.com. Also check out our other helpful how-to and diagnosis videos.
