Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, I'm going to show you how to service the small corner lights. These are the small round lights in front of the front wheels down lower on the bumper fascia. At 1A Auto, we sell replacement ones if one gets broken or damaged. Also, I'll show you how to service them if you're just looking to change a bulb or something. It's pretty much the same for any '04 to '08 Maxima. The only tools you'll need are a Phillips screwdriver and an 8mm wrench.
Underneath, in front of the wheels are two Phillips screws. You'll want to remove those. You can pull this back. You can see the back of your side light. It's a little hard to film, but there's the connection right here. There's a tab on the outside. Pull that tab and disconnect it. Then your bolts to hold the light: there's one here and there's one further in. You need an 8mm wrench.
Unfortunately, the only thing that can get in there is an 8mm wrench. It's just a matter of pulling those back. Once you get the bolts started, they actually come out by hand. I'm just going to fast-forward here as I reach in there, loosen up, and then remove the other bolt. Once you have the bolts out, you've got to go right in the center of the light, and pinch two tabs and push out. Then the light comes out. Let's do that socket side. Just to show you how to put it back together here, these are the two tabs, so you're reaching back in there and pinching those to pull it apart.
In my opinion, it's a lot easier to pull this bulb out. You pull the bulb from the socket here. It's a lot easier to do it this way, a couple of extra steps, but trying to fish this. When that is actually inside of this, it makes it pretty difficult, especially with the angle to try and get that out when it's all in the bumper. Hold the socket in here. You want to have the hole where the bulb goes right at the bottom.
Just work it right in. Pop it together. Once it's together, it pretty much clips itself. I just need to start these bolts in. I'm going to fast-forward here, as you really can't see what I'm doing, so I'll just tell you what I'm doing. You put the bolts in by hand first. You basically can tighten them up most of the way by hand. Then use the 8mm wrench to tighten them up nice and firm. As we slow down, I will be plugging the harness in. Push you fender back up and in. Then replace those two Phillips screws, and you're all set.
