Hi, I'm Mike Green. I'm one of the owners of 1A Auto. I want to help you save time and money repairing and maintaining your vehicle. I'm going to use my 20 plus years' experience restoring and repairing cars and trucks like this to show you the correct way to install parts from 1AAuto.com. The right parts installed correctly, that's going to save you time and money. Thank you and enjoy the video.
In the video we will be showing you how to remove and replace the mirror on this 1998 Dodge Durango, the same as a 98 to 03. The only tools you'll need are a Phillips screwdriver, and a 10 mm socket and ratchet, and maybe a pair of pliers if you have some trouble with the connection for the harness.
First you're going to remove five Phillips screws. There's two underneath, one there, and one here by the back, and then one right underneath the door pull there, one right near the mirror up here, and then one in behind your door handle right there.
Once you remove those screws, you want to lift up on your door panel and then pull if out, and as you're pulling it out there's a connector here for your mirror switch. Pull that. There's a tab right there. You pull up and out. Okay, there's a clip here for your door handle that's black. You use your finger and push it around and then you pull that up and out. And then there's a connector here for your window switch that you basically grab hold of and you can either pull it down and off, which is sometimes difficult. Okay, pull that off. The other thing you could do is if you can't pull that down and off there's just three screws that hold the switch on, so you could just use a Phillips screwdriver and pull that switch off. There you go, you're door panel is off.
Once you have the door panel off, here is your mirror, little pad, and then three 10 mm bolts. There is a connector here. You want to put your finger behind, press the little tab, and pull it up and out. If it's difficult, use a pair of needle-nose pliers to help you out the first time. Once that's disconnected then you can just loosen the 10 mm bolts.
Push your connector through. And this is just a little plug for the harness, push that through. And there's your mirror off. Okay, I'm going to put it back on, pretty much do it in reverse. Push it back through. Push the plug into place. When you tighten them you want them snug but not too tight. Push that back on, reconnect, and now you can reinstall the door panel.
And reinstall is just a reverse of the procedure. Make sure down here is the lock. Push you're lock through and then reconnect your window switch. And then you reconnect your door panel lock, and reconnect your mirror switch, making sure the door lock is brought through with the panel up. Lift the door panel up. Make sure all your clips go into place. Push it against the door and slide it down, and reinstall all your screws.
We hope this helps you out. Brought to you by www.1AAuto.com, you source for quality replacement parts and the best service on the internet. Please feel free to call us toll free 888-844-3393. We are the company that's here for you on the internet and in person.

Dakota mirrors

Mirrors look good and fit well in the doors. Would not buy again because they constantly shake making it difficult to see behind you. Tried numerous ways to make them not shake. I took them off and will look elsewhere for replacements.
