In this video, we're going to be working with our 2006 Chrysler 300. We're going to show you how to replace the vehicle's front emblem here on the grill. These are prone to falling off or breaking. Once you've peeled it off, installing a new OE piece is a breeze. If you like this video, please click subscribe. We have a ton more information on this and many other vehicles, and if you need this part for your car, you can follow the link down in the description over to 1AAuto.com. Here are the items you'll need for this repair.

Here we have a new OEM special edition Chrysler badge for our 300, which the old badges have fallen off of. We're going to show you how to adhere this onto your vehicle on either the front or the rear to replace the old OE badge. I'm going to use a piece of cardboard on my table here to prevent from scratching up that surface on the end. We're going to use a nice, high quality, double-sided tape. This is known as trim molding or body tape. You want to make sure you get something pretty thick so you can do this in one or two pieces. Go ahead, peel that off. We're going to find about the middle here. This doesn't have to be perfect. This tape is pretty strong, so if you don't cover the whole badge don't worry, as long as you get the majority of it. I've seen this stuff stick on to some much heavier components and keep it on there well. This is the same stuff they use for door moldings and various pieces of the bumper, so it is made to last.

Now, we'll want to take a nice sharp razor blade and lay this away from the back of the badge so you don't cut into the badge itself. Can see I'm laying that on an angle, away from the back of the badge. You won't really see it once it's installed anyway, but it’s better to be careful. We'll go ahead and do the same thing on the other side, and I am cutting toward myself here but we're not using a lot of force, so just go nice and easy, slow. You want to make sure that it's nice and controlled. If it feels like it's fighting you, just back off and try it again. Now we'll repeat the same process with the strip on the other half.

Now our badge is ready to be adhered onto our car. We have some bubbling here underneath where our chrome was. What we're going to do is just take a small flat-blade screwdriver, and just peel all that up. Peel it right to the edge of the oval here but don't push it past that. If it breaks off like that, that's fine. Just let it do it. As for the rest of this stuff, I’m just going to push it up as far as it will go. Peel off all the little flakes. Now, we'll take that nice sharp razor blade and cut right on the inside edge of that oval and get all that flaking chrome out of there. We'll take a rag with some solvent on it and just wipe away all the dirts and oil and greases that are on there.

Peel up the backing on your adhesive. You've got to kind of get a finger nail under there and start folding it up. Once you get one corner off, it comes off pretty easy. You want to try and keep your fingers off of the exposed adhesive while you're doing this. I know that can be a little tough, but the oils from your fingers can prevent it from adhering correctly. Line up your badge. It will really only sit in there one way so just set one corner of the oval in, lay it in, then press it down evenly.
