How to Replace Air Flow Meter Sensor 2003-11 Ford Focus

If the mass air flow (MAF) sensor needs to be replaced, this short video will show you how you can do it yourself

step 1 :Removing the Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor
- Raise and support the front of the vehicle
- Disconnect the MAF sensor wiring harness
- Remove the two T20 Torx bolts from the MAF Sensor
- Pull down the MAF sensor

step 2 :Installing the New MAF Sensor
- Put the new MAF sensor into place
- Insert the two T20 bolts into the MAF sensor
- Connect the MAF sensor wiring harness

In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the mass air flow sensor on this 2005 Ford Focus with the 2 liter, 4 cylinder engine. It's the same part and process on these Ford Focuses from 2003 to 2007. The items you'll need for this are a new mass air flow sensor from 1AAuto.com, jack and jack stands, and a T20 Torx driver.
Start off by raising the front of the vehicle. The mass air flow sensor is located right here. Start off by prying up on this red clip and then pushing the tab on the harness and pulling it free. The sensor is held in with two T20 Torx bolts. We'll just fast forward as Don removes both of those. Once those are removed the air flow sensor will pull right out.
In the back, is the old mass air flow sensor. Up front, is the new one from 1A Auto. You can see they're identical, and they'll fit exactly the same. Put your new mass air flow sensor into place and replace those two T20 Torx bolts. Reconnect your harness and push that red tab back in.
