  1. step 1 :Removing the Prop Rod Retainer

    • Remove the Phillips screw from the retainer
    • Pry out the retainer
  2. step 2 :Installing the Prop Rod Retainer
    • Insert the retainer into the hood
    • Tighten the Phillips head screw to the retainer

Tools needed

  • Phillips Head Screwdriver

    Trim Tool Set

When you open up the hood on this vehicle, the prop rod sits under the hood, and then you have to lower it and place it down here. Let's say this is broken and every time you lift the hood, the prop rod's just falling. You can get a new replacement hood clip from 1AAuto.com.

To remove the old one, take a Philips head screwdriver. After you take the screw out, you can take a plastic prying tool—you can buy these from 1AAuto.com—and pry down. Push in on the tabs.

Place your new one in, and it snaps into place. Place the Phillips head screw. Now your prop rod has a place to clip into.
